by Good news awaits those experiencing homelessness as the Shantiniketan trust, led by Father Jijo Kurian, is making a positive impact. The trust, under his guidance, is assisting the less fortunate by constructing homes, allowing many to realize their dream of having a place to live. Families struggling with financial difficulties are particularly benefiting from this initiative. The trust is diligently building houses, valued between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, without any charges.
The houses being built at a cost of Rs 2.5 lakh have the specifications such as a sit out area, a hall, 2 bedrooms, kitchen and a common bathroom. For a bigger family, the house will have two bedrooms, built at a cost of Rs 2 to Rs 4 lakh. They also do the ceiling electrical work themselves. Those who have 3 cents of land of their own will get help. The construction start will start only after valuation to prove that they are eligible to get such a house.
Father Jijo Kurian, is the brain behind this. He started the construction of houses at free of cost as a social activity. Those who have minimum 3 cent of land can get this opportunity. They are also helping the poor those who are without land ( some one is giving land to this trust also).
